Commuting Agreements

Policies regarding commuting are information to help commuter agree on terms and condition noted here to eliminate many issues that results in matching commuters. Matchcommuter.com is not responsible for any agreements and actions taken by its members as a result of these policies. These Policies are merely to eliminate many questions that arise as a result of commuting match.

PASSENGER:

Time Leaving: Time leaving is the time that you leave home / office. This is the time that you leave your home/office without waiting on Driver to reach your location. Time Leaving is setup on a 30 minutes time interval. When deciding on Time Leaving, choosing different Time Leaving will allow more chances of finding a match.

Plan Time Leaving: Is the window of time that Passenger must be available for the Driver to reach departing location. This time is generally about 15 minutes prior to Time leaving. For example, if the Time Leaving is at 6:00 AM then the Plan Time leaving starts at 5:45 AM. Passengers should Plan to be ready by Plan Time Leaving. Passengers and Drivers can change Plan Time Leaving depending on their circumstances and should abide by their agreements.

Time Arriving: Time Arriving is the time that you reach home/office.

Plan Time Arriving: Is the window of time that the Driver shall reach Passenger destination. This time is generally about 15 minutes prior to Time Arriving. For example, if the Time Arriving is at 7:00 AM then the Plan Time Arriving at destination is 6:45 AM. Drivers should plan their route safely to reach Plan Time Arriving time. Passengers and Drivers can change Plan Time Arriving depending on their circumstances and should abide by their agreements. Passengers should understand that Traffic Conditions such as accidents at times will affect Plan Time Arriving.

Fees and Agreements: Passengers shall use the mapping to determine the commuting distance from home to office and back on a daily basis. Passengers will pay the Driver for agreed Current Value determined for the current condition in Cent per mile divided by number of commuters (Driver plus number of Passengers) times distance traveled to/from work for gas and wear/tear of the Driver car. For example, Current Value is determined to be 30C/mile. Let's say there are two of you (one Driver and one Passenger) commuting 60 miles one day going to work and back. You multiply .3x 60 miles=$18.0 and divide by 2 = $9.00 your share of commuting cost. Between just the two of you, each has saved $9.00 on one day of commuting over 60 miles distance. The example above is merely showing the savings and not intended for actual current value of Cent / mile. Behavior: Passengers commuting shall behave in manners to avoid distraction of Driver during the commuting time. Listening to music should be in a way that would not distract others in the vehicle.

DRIVER:

Time Leaving: Time leaving is the time that you leave home / office. It is the same as the Passengers information above with the exception that you plan to reach the Passenger home/office by Plan Time Leaving time. In the example above that would be 5:45 AM. You must allow Time to leave your home/office to reach Passenger home/office by Plan Time Leaving time. If you are not able to reach Passenger Plan time leaving time, you shall contact him/her of the circumstance and as agreed between you and the Passenger regarding decisions made.

Drivers shall plan their route in advance to avoid issues such as missing the time in picking up Passengers on time as agreed on their match.

Behavior: Drivers shall be considerate of the Passengers. Keeping the music down and paying attention to the road. Follow all the information regarding the commuting safety Tip section especially for the laws and rules of the Road as specified in Department of Motor Vehicles for the State you are residing.

EITHER:

Depending weather you are Driver or Passenger, Follow above as it applies to your condition. If you are commuting with another EITHER then you can wave each other fees and agreements by taking turn on different days when commuting from home/office and vice versa. You both agree on your own terms and condition and what applies to both of you regarding locations, distances, directions, and usages of vehicles.
